Mleko Living

Mleko Living is a design studio that creates simple objects for everyday use in cooperation with local craftsmen. Mleko Living was founded in 2017 by Katarzyna Goluszka and Michal Zaluski, from Krakow, Poland.

They developed their great interest in the functionality and aesthetics of human surroundings through studying architectural design, whilst living in different European cities.

Canvas is collection of stoneware products for daily use. The objects act as a plain canvas, which we paint upon. The pieces bring ease and harmony into our everyday life and leave us room for assigning meaning and value. Simple forms and sustainable use of materials are the focus points of this collection. Transparent finish is used to highlight the beauty of stoneware.

The collection is handmade in a family run ceramic factory in Southern Poland. All pieces are fired in a high temperature to ensure their durability. The items are dishwasher and microwave safe. The collection consists of 5 objects: a bowl, a flowerpot, a vase, a carafe and a mug.

VZOR

Vzór was created as part of designer Jakub Sobiepanek’s final degree during his studies at the Faculty of Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Having won the Dean’s Award, the company began by manufacturing historical models, with the view to folding contemporary furniture into the brand and contribute to the next phase of Polish design history. Despite using new technologies to manufacture older designs and update their integrity and longevtity, Vzór's processes also aim to retain the original intentions and therefore reintroduce iconic Polish design to a new market.

Aleksandra Gaca

Textile designer Aleksandra Gaca is fascinated by weaving technique and three-dimensional constructions. Experiments with self-made weaves and unusual materials have generated innovative fabric structures. Through this unique combination of weave and material she strives to achieve an as yet undiscovered added value. In her work she is continuously seeking the cutting edge between autonomous art, design and spatial design. The fabrics are suitable to all disciplines: from fashion to architecture.

STUDIO

Studio Aleksandra Gaca is specialised in developing exclusive textile design on a contract-basis, in co-operation with both architects and interior architects. In addition, the studio contributes to commercial collections: curtain and furniture coverings, rugs and home accessories. Recent projects include design exclusive bedspreads for luxury hotels. For Belgian company CASALIS she designed the collection poufs and plaids: Slumber and from Architextiles collection, fabric Cello. Own Label collections include collection ARCHITEXTILES.

ARCHITEXTILES - 3D Acoustic Textiles

Architextiles is a series of sound absorbing textiles with a woven 3D structure. Due to their ribbed texture, these fabrics absorb sound waves much better than flat textiles. Thus contributing to a more muted environment. These textile panels combine two features: noise reduction and decoration. The undulating surface creates a play of light and shadow. This conceptual approach lies at the intersection of art, design and architecture. As a result, this functionally versatile collection can be widely applied: from high end private interiors via interior designers through to large scale architecture.

Special Projects

Special projects using the Architextiles fabrics are being realized in the Aleksandra Gaca design studio. Here the focus is on the FLORO, ONDO, RHOMBUS and BLOKO weaves. Custom-made colours, colour transition, different compositions or new designs are made possible.

Casalis Collection include fabric CELLO, available in 9 colours.

Julia Glassware

The history of Julia Glassworks dates back to XIX century and is one of the oldest crystal glass manufactures in Poland.

For many companies, manual process of manufacturing is solely a cost creating factor that needs to be reduced. For Julia Crystal Glass Factory, it is the largest value that gives great production flexibility. Hence, their design and process boldly go beyond the traditional frames of what is known as an ordinary crystal glass.

It is an experiment with form and decor. As a consequence, their final products, manufactured on a small scale, meet needs of a very demanding customer. Julia is a constantly widening range of unique projects. It is an offer for a costumer who is interested in connecting tradition with modernity.

METROPOLIS (THE METROPOLIS)
The Collection, with its simple, geometric forms and vertical decor enhancing sparkle and light, is a reference to modern metropolitan areas with its ultra fast life and traffic - the sound of a busy street going into the noise of a night club and a
dawn that hardly breaks through the neons and city screens. That is the Metropolis – an architecture of a table. It forms new directions, streets and intersections... between meals.
Designed by: Sebastian Pietkiewicz

KULTOWE FORMY (THE CULT FORMS)
Down to earth and having solely a serviceable use in the past. Today they are back in a quite another, sentimental form. Popular, classic shapes of bottles for milk, whisky, beer, vodka or a jar for cucumbers. Subtle cuts bring out the elegance of crystal. Their contemporary function depends only on our imagination.

YOLA

A Polish street artist Jola Kudela working under a street name Yola.

She specialises in large scale paste-ups, featuring classical paintings recreated using contemporary models. She combines her passion for renaissance art with her skills in image manipulation and digital composition. She studied animation and visual effects at the Polish National Film School in Lodz and, while not doing street art, she works in the movie industry as a CGI visual supervisor and compositing artist.

In her street-art installations she uses classical (renaissance, symbolist or realist) paintings as reference to create modern images with contemporary models. Her images create a dialogue with their urban environment, as well as engage the audience by providing a social commentary.

She uses models from all walks of life, various ethnic backgrounds, professions and sexual orientations. In her art she aims to transgress the barriers of nationality, race and social strata.

She started her street art career with small pieces on the streets of Paris and Brighton, moving onto a large series of “Renaissance street art” in Warsaw, Poland (autumn 2010). In May 2011 she recreated a Polish symbolist masterpiece Vicious Circle in a large scale paste-up piece in Buenos Aires. In October 2011, as part of the Parisian cultural event Nuit Blanche, she created a massive 140m2 image on a 3-storey building located in a busy boulevard of Paris. It was done simultaneously with a Polish event Forty Forty in Warsaw. While in Australia in January 2012, she produced a series of paste-ups in the famous street-art lanes of Melbourne (Hosier Lane among others), as well as ran a street-art workshop with Blender Studios and Signal 37 project, which resulted in a collaborative paste-up in Union Lane. In 2013 she completed a street art project with local community of Loughborough Junction in South London, UK.

Polish table

Polski Stół (Polish table) is a collaborative effort of three manufacturers in Lower Silesia. This innovative project gathers Walbrzych-based Porcelana Kristoff, Manufaktura Boleslawiec and Huta Julia Piechowice as three manufacturers are co-designing the Polish table. The idea behind the Polish table initiative is the revival of the traditional craft by combination of truly unique design with the the diversity and specificity of every material.

Each of the three Lower-Silesian factories has created their unique sets as an effort of their designer teams collaborating, studying production technologies and rediscovering traditional methods of hand-made ornaments.

Two breakfast sets and a collection for special occasions are another step towards bringing the Lower Silesian traditional craft back to the dinner table. For the inhabitants of historical Silesia, these products were real pride and joy, making the region recognizable and respected as the industrial area of crucial importance for the European economy. Porcelain from Walbrzych, crystal glass from Piechowice and stoneware from Boleslawiec once adorned Silesian tables for centuries. After the war, their products contributed jointly to restoring the cultural and social identity of the residents of western Poland. For more than 70 years, these products have defined the "Polish table", both literally and metaphorically.
