Zieta Studio and Pani Jurek Studio bring Polish material innovation and creativity to Material Matters London, taking place at its new Shoreditch home
UNLOCKED, from 15 -17 September 2026 as part of London Design Festival.
Zieta Studio, led by Oskar Zięta, presents the Whispers Bench, created using the studio’s innovative FiDU steel-forming process and illuminated by a constellation of Inox Lampin lighting pieces. More information here.
Warsaw-based Pani Jurek Studio, founded by Magda Jurek and Michał Borecki, presents the interactive OP Ceramic Modular System — a rotating ceramic installation exploring the relationship between colour, light, space and human interaction. More information here.

Local Knowledge, Global Design: Poland’s Creative Industries

What makes Polish design distinctive today, and how can local knowledge, craftsmanship and material experimentation contribute to a global design conversation?
As part of the Café Conversations programme at Material Matters London, this panel brings together voices from Polish design and the international creative community to explore process led making, material intelligence and the growing international presence of Polish design.
The conversation will look at how designers combine traditional knowledge and hands on experimentation with contemporary approaches to materials, from Zieta Studio’s innovative work with steel to Pani Jurek Studio’s exploration of ceramics, colour, light and interaction.
Joining the discussion are Agata Zięta of Zieta Studio, Michał Borecki of Pani Jurek Studio and Samta Nadeem, Curatorial Director at STIR.
The conversation will be chaired by Grant Gibson, founder of Material Matters.
